Drop Zone Action

New week, new weather patterns. Not the best start to the week for the Learning Curve Camp. Day one saw us get 2-3 jumps before those big westerly winds kicked into gear. The winds were here to stay for the week. We did manage to get 1-2 jumps every day. Majority of the day we used wisely and ran several LCC seminars: 4way flat, load organiser, monthly maintenance, weather patterns, jump run, aircraft emergencies, buddy checks, FF basics, landing patterns, incident revision.

The weekend forecast lied and said it was beautiful conditions but that was proved wrong when the 30knt winds kicked in. But we preserved and waited it out and got a jump in at the end of the day. Next week looks great for skydiving, if you believe the forecast. Fingers crossed.

Students Robert and Morgan returned. And we welcomed our new AFF students Cameron and Andrew. B-Rel Coach jumps were done by Bailey and Jaide.

Tandem jumps were done by Joseph, Isabella, Abby, Brenda, Ciara, Billy and Jarrod. Congratulations!

Belly Bash

Well, the weather certainly wan’t kind to us for Belly Bash on Saturday, with 30kt gusts hammering us by late morning! But this did not stop us bracing the cold and getting our knees in the breeze on the first load! We planned and beautifully executed a 7-way carving race, where we took turns to carve in a circuit around our opposing group!! It was a one-jump-wonder, but muchos fun was had by all!

Many thanks to all of you for ignoring the forecast and coming out regardless – and big shout-out to Trav for expertly taking-on organising duties in Dawn’s absence!

As ever, many thanks to our sponsors – Skydive Ramblers, TSC, SQPC and Mee Loft, and our awesome camera fliers Michael Young and Camilla Rokke!

Attendees: Chris Dodds, Trav McC., Marin K., Adrian B., Aaron R., Sean L., Luke M., Michael Y., Camilla R., Greg M., MilleS., Farrell McK., Fred O., Holly A., and Rab McC.

See ya,

Macca and Team Ramblers.

My experience of a tandem skydive was for my 40th Birthday. I could not imagine possibly enjoying myself any more than what I did today. Thank you to my tandem guide and the video guys. Instructions were very clear and thorough about what to do, what to expect and I got a great tour guide experience up in the air. I look forward to doing it again.
