Monday 24th October – and Tuesday we were closed due to bad weather – again!!
On Wednesday, after 10 days of bad weather we finally opened for some skydiving. There were 27 fun jumpers here and 6 loads were done. There sure was a backlog of new skydivers ready to go!
New AFF students Jasmyne, Lindsey, Ella, Troy & Paige did Stage 1, Shih-Chang (Jace) did Stages 1 & 2, Matthew & Michael did Stages 1, 2 & 3, Felipe did Stages 4 & 5, Jared did Stage 9 – completing his AFF Course. Big congratulations! 🎉 Two B-Rel Coach jumps were done by Darren & Daniel.
On Thursday 4 loads were done. 23 skydivers got a jump or two in. Our Tandems today were Amy & Roslyn. Our new AFF students Jasmyne, Lindsey & Ella did Stage 2. Jace did Stage 3, Matthew & Michael Stages 4 & 5, and Cameron also did Stage 9 completing his AFF Course. Another Congratulations! 🎉 And luckily all the jumps were done before the drop zone was hammered by a hail storm.
Friday The winds got up after 2 loads were done by the 20 skydivers here. Our new students Lindsey & Ella did Stage 3 of their AFF Courses. Matthew & Michael did Stage 6.
On Saturday 29th October was massive. The weather was perfect. We had 101 fun jumpers here, both Caravan aircraft were needed for the 19 loads done.
There were a few Tandem skydivers here today too. Tim, John, Ping, Jaymin and Lai got their knees in the breeze.
New AFF students Alexander, Oskar, Denzil did their Stage 1. Brenton did Stage 2, Jasmyne did Stages 3 & 4. Lindsey, Ella & Jace all did Stage 4, Sherry Stages 5 & 6, Felipe Stages 6 & 7, and Matthew & Michael did Stage 7. Plus there were four B-Rel Coach jumps by Jesse, Claire, Sam & Sid. Whew! It was a busy day.
On Sunday 98 fun jumpers were still here and another 19 loads were done. More Tandems today. David, Jorge & Marta all took the big leap!
Our AFF students got stuck into it again. Alexander & Oskar Stages 2 & 3, Brenton Stage 3, Jasmyne Stages 4 & 5, Jace Stage 5 and Ella did Stages 5, 6 & 7. Felipe & Matthew Stages 8 & 9 and Jason also did Stage 9 – completing their AFF Courses. Big congratulations! 🎉
Seven B-Rel Coach jumps were done by Mark, Jesse, Thomas, and Daniel (x2). Carl & Uriel did Refresher jumps. Fun jumpers were flat out skydiving. The Nachos ran a heap of angle dives and the flatties “Belly Bash” run by Chris and Dawn was big and successful. There were a lot of smiling faces all weekend.
Belly Bash
“Thanks to all the legends who came out and joined our October Belly Bash! The turnout was so big this time, we had to split into two planeloads! Amazing to see so much progession. Special shout-out to Samuel and Marcela who both achieved their star crests, and to Sam and Greg who hit 200 and 500 jumps!
Once again, thanks to Skydive Ramblers, Toogoolawah Skydivers Club Inc, and South Queensland Parachute Council for sposoring this event – and for Toddy and Jason (Cambo) for the mad camera skillz!”
An absolute Blast. Totally exhilarating. Sarah, my diving buddy was totally professional and competent. She rehearsed my moves. Gave me an opportunity to bail (which was never going to happen but would have been appreciated by a possible nervous type), was a very good tourist guide on the climb out so fabulous experience all round.
Thanks to everyone there.
Cheers, Carol.
