It’s Monday 29th March. It’s Learning Curve Camp week. It was off to a good start. Several Coaches and twelve LC Campers were at the briefing and jump numbers ranged from 9 to 450. Plus our Tandems for the day were Kathryn Roberts, Dennis Tran, Victoria Connolly, Emma Wood, Liam Jarman and Harneet Dhillon.

Plus our newest student Andre Floquet did Stage 1 of his AFF Course. Plus Yash Dosanth did AFF Stage 4, and Tony Van Der Linde and Laura Jones did Stages 8 & 9 – completing their AFF Courses, congratulations! Plus Harvey was here for the LCC filming everybody’s landings for the nightly review.

Tuesday was looking good. Weather good. And then the Covid news broke: Brisbane in lockdown until at least Thursday. Half the LC Campers and Coaches departed. We continued on but a deflated mood did hit the DZ a little. Andre Floquet did AFF Stages 2 & 3. Morgan had a good B-Rel dive. Harvey kept filming the landings. The seminars continued in the evening.

Wednesday was a beaut day. The LCC soldiered on. Our newest new student Daniel Fisher arrived for his AFF 1st Jump Course and got Stage 1 in. Andre Floquet also soldiered on and got Stages 4, 5 & 6 done. The nightly landing video debriefing was popular and rewarding.

We had some more Tandems on Thursday. Zavier and Glenn Tiaontook the plunge. Daniel Fisher continued with Stages 2 & 3 of his AFF Course. Andre Floquet did Stages 7 & 8. The Brisbane lockdown was lifted in the afternoon. Some more experienced skydivers arrived but the weather forecasting was not looking good.

Friday 2nd. Good Friday. Darryl Sehl and Thomas Fuller arrived for their Tandems. Craig Core did Stage 5 of his AFF Course. It was the final day of the Learning Curve Camp. We got a few loads in but that was it. The landings were shown early evening. Thanks again to Harvey Hutchinson for his time and effort, the landing seminars are invaluable. Thanks to all our other Coaches and Instructors. It was a good LCC considering. And that was it for the week and Easter. Saturday and Sunday were rained out.

See ya,

Macca and Team Ramblers.

(to be confirmed…)

Today I went flying for the first time in a long time, as I had a stroke 3 and a bit years ago. Just wanted say thank u Ramblers for bringing me a great day and a bit of normality back in my life. Again I would like to thank all the people that truly made my day and the special man, that looked after me. It won't be my last time out there. And would recommend this experience to anyone. Again thanks to everybody involved.

Robert Young.
