Monday 26th – Day 1 of Equinox LITE began but was very light due to the COVID-19 situation.
Where normally we have skydivers from all over the world this year was a small local event. Nevertheless, Alan Moss was conducting flat flying for all levels. Marco DeBoni was drifting from load to load doing footage for the Day Tapes, and check out his photos (gallery links below). Matt Drew was running angles and any freeflying. Keith Grealy coached some loads on Wednesday. The TSC sponsored two slots a day for members getting coached. There were several ‘outside’ experienced coaches here and, along with the Ramblers instructional staff there were several lay coaches here as well. The SQPC kindly supports members with a $25 rebate. Isaac Johnson’s Day Tape followed the raffles, TheCoach House Café was open for all meals, the bar was open until midnight, and the bonfires were raging every night.
Day 2: Tuesday 27th – Coach Alan Moss ran a Landing Seminar.
Day 3: Wednesday 28th. Keith Grealy coached some loads, before the weather turned and the storm hit.
Day 4: Thursday 29th – Student Michael Fallon did Stage 1 of his AFF Course. Ben Nordkamp ran a First Night Jump Course and then it was time for some night jumps organised by Oli Morris, and on the second load, the skies lit up by the spectacular Meteor Men: Wayne and Travis.
Day 5: Friday 30thTandems were Mateus De Macedo Da Silva, Alexandre Da Silva Franca, Vanessa Dinelli, Isaias Meneze Pereira and Maira Costa De Aravjo Goes. Student Michael Fallon did Stages 2 & 3 of his AFF Course, Bruce Pena did Stage 3, Eric Aitjen did Stage 4 and Jordan McEvoy did Stage 6.
Two more night jumps loads went up, organised by Oli Morris and the Brazilian band – “Brazillian Banana Trio” played some groovy tunes.
Shouted my brother for his 40th to a night sky dive. We absolutely loved it! Best experience ever! The team at Ramblers made us feel well looked after, safe, best humour, can’t thank you enough. We’ve both done day sky dives before but this was next level. Watching the sunset and flying into the sky with fading light & jumping out into darkness. Highly recommended!
