Monday 25th September. Newsletter time. It was a top week with new people here getting into the Sport. Our newest students, Lee Atkinson and Kok Wai Choong spent most of the day in the classroom and then did Stage 1 in the sky. They then proceeded to do Stages 2 to 4 over the next couple of days. Charlie the 182 was kept busy.
On Wednesday a few more people rocked up. Homer the 208 did half the loads. Wai did and Lee didn’t slow down and both finished their Stages 5, 6, 7 & 8 of their AFF Courses by Thursday.
Friday was big. Fun jumpers and more students arrived all day. Ben Galvin and Ellery Miles did Stages 2, 3 & 4 of their AFF Courses. Lee Atkinson and Kok Wai Choong both did Stage 9 – Completing their AFF!!!
Our new Cessna 208 Caravan arrived at sunset. It’s name is Marj, as in wife of Homer. She’s beautiful.
Saturday the last day of September was huge. Downunder Dynamics jumpers were arriving early. The Toogoolawah skydivers Club had a 2 aircraft 6-way Star Comp happening. Tandems were happening. Seoin Jeon, Jiyoung Jun, Joshua Priestley (who was celebrating his 21st Birthday), Daniel Benz; and Hayden & Jessica Flett all took the big leap.
More new people “getting into the Sport” arrived early for the 1st Jump Course. Then in the afternoon our newest students Paul Ovreseth, Greg Casey and Aaron Brogden did Stage 1 of their AFF Course.
It was a beaut day with lots of people, lots of fun and good jumping, and formation flying! Welcome Marj, thank you pilots.
Then it was Sunday the 1st of October. It was another busy day with more fun jumpers arriving for Mason Corby’s Dynamics week. Also arriving were our tandemsJohn Schiavo, Jade Gurney, Tom Ziegenfuss, & Storm Bergin.

Bill, Just a note to say thanks to you mate for your continued support it was a great trip. I would also like to bring to your leadership teams attention the exceptional support provided by Andy who did the tandem jump with a great friend of mine, Julie. To say Julie was petrified on the lead up to the big day would be a huge understatement. I had my doubts that she would actually exit on the day. I put her decision to exit firmly in the hands of Andy who excelled in calming her down, reassuring her whilst having a bit of a laugh along the way. The manner in which he guided her through what was to her a daunting task was oustanding to watch. He should be commended not only for his flight skills but also his raport and interaction with the customer. I was not surprised to find out he had a military background. Ramblers should be proud to have such fine men on their books as you and Andy, Bill.
“exceptional support”, “reassuring… whilst having a bit of a laugh” – by John D. – Julie’s Tandem
