Friday started out a funky weather day. There were tricky winds and threatening clouds around. The 2021 Virtual Aussie National Champs were on and the competitors took to the skies and dodged the clouds. However 100 YEAR OLD Greg Lee was patient, and after the rain cleared and the winds turned perfect Greg Lee and Raynette Kise took to the skies for Greg’s historic Tandem, supporting Kidney Health Australia. After a terrific freefal from 12,000 feet Tandem Master Adrian made the perfect landing with Greg.
In other News Speed competitor Shane Turner smashed the Australian and World Freefall Record with a confirmed 513 kilometers and hour skydive!!!!
Not to be outdone David Moore successfully managed AFF Stages 7 & 8.
Greg Lee has done a tandem skydive on his 100th birthday to celebrate a wonderful life with his recently departed wife, Iris, that he would not have had without the work of Kidney Health Australia, the research they support and the generous donor that allowed a kidney transplant to save her life in 1977.
Please get behind Greg and donate as little or as much as you can to support the work of Kidney Health Australia including funding research that makes a difference to millions of lives with 1 in 10 people being affected worldwide with chronic kidney disease.
There was an early start to the Nationals Competition on Saturday. The weather behaved. Both Cessna Caravans were busy. Charlie, Leticia and Noah De Mey arrived for Tandems for Leticia’s Birthday.
Our newest student Ben Gordon started his AFF Course. Tony van der Linde was back for AFF Stages 2, 3 & 4. Matthew Elliott, Laura Jones and Todd Smith all did Stages 5 & 6, Chloe Nicol did Stages 6 & 7 and David Moore did Stage 9 – completing his AFF Course. Another Congratulations.
Lots of Fun Jumping was happening; flatties, B-Rels, freefliers and swoopers and other Fun Jumpers all had a great day.
The Aussie Nationals Competition was up early again on Sunday. Business as usual! Competitors, fun jumpers, novices and students all dodged the clouds! Georgia Hill (by Donna Beames): “Thankyou so much for the support from everyone as I was freaking out for my daughter! Massive thanks for Olly for taking great care of her.”
Had an absolute great time learning this amazing sport... I am absolutely hooked. My partner also did 2 tandem jumps, considering that she doesn't like flying or heights and yet due to the nature of Ramblers and their instructors and staff, she is definitely hooked as well. Absolutely recommend Ramblers either for an experience of a life time or to complete a full course. You will not regret it.
